Last week I attended a celebration of life for one of my clients. She was a beautiful woman who was loved by many and the love could be felt in the overpacked room as her friends and family were saying their tearful goodbye.
I was watching it all, and my heart was broken. Not just for the devastation of the family and friends that were left behind.
My heart was broken because this client of mine passed away before I got to photograph her family portrait she hired me to create for her.
It happens all the time that my clients put off getting their photo taken.
- ' I'm going to lose a few pounds first'

I hear it all the time, and absolutely understand - I myself go through the same thoughts and feelings when I want to book my family portrait session.
But standing in the celebration of life for my client who I did not get to photograph before she passed away, watching a slideshow of beautiful photos of this client when she was younger but nothing more recent. And seeing her family she left behind, knowing this family will never have the opportunity again to have a beautiful family portrait - was a life changing moment for me.
And now, thanks to this client, I am on a mission.
